3rd - 5th April 2019 - Year 4 Hooke Court

Wednesday 3rd April, saw our year 4 sharks head off on their residential trip to Hooke Court. This year we stayed in the Gatehouse with the children from Cerne Abbas school.

During the three day stay, the children took part in 4 activities, these were tribal kingdom, den building, rocket making and bridge the moat. We had tough conditions with lots of rain, wind and mud, however the children were amazing and participated in all the activities despite the weather!

As well as our daytime activities on the first evening we went on a night walk around the surrounding areas, we spotted wildlife and signs of wildlife and thankfully the rain held off. On our second evening we had songs around the camp fire ... with a difference! Our campfire was homemade with some logs and a lightbulb and we had it inside due to the bad weather. The children thoroughly enjoyed all the songs and also presented their own song to the other schools who were there.

The children also managed to fit in some downtime and played games and coloured or drew in the common room in the gatehouse. It was very exciting having a big sleepover with all their friends - but they were very good at settling off to sleep!!

We all came back a little wet, muddy and tired, but a fantastic time was had by all!
