8.3.19 Science, World Book Day and Music Roadshow

In science this half term we are looking at magnets with Mrs Ayliffe. This week we investigated which magnets were the strongest, how they repelled and attracted and why.

On Thursday it was World Book Day. To celebrate we were invited to come to school dressed as a book character, everybody looked amazing - well done! Throughout the day we had a story on the hour, every hour, we worked through book day booklets with fun activities like character profiles and a scavenger hunt. At the end of the day the whole school came together for a special story at collective worship.

In the evening children and staff came back to school in their pyjamas, bringing teddy bears and blankets for some bedtime stories and a hot chocolate. We all had a lot of fun!! Thank you to Ms Braidwood for organising and the staff who helped, as well as the PTFA who provide us with the delicious hot chocolates and biscuits.

On Friday we were very lucky to have a music road show visit the school. Mrs Trevorrow (who we know from helping us with our DASP singing) and 3 other music teachers show cased a range of different instruments such as the flute, cello, trumpet, trombone, Bassoon, saxophone, violin and clarinet, which we are available to learn through DASP music. They played lots of music pieces we all recognised from films such as Trolls, Beauty and the Beast and Star Wars. It was a lovely treat for a Friday morning.
