The children returned this week and have begun Literacy work based on the book Ice Palace by Robert Swindells.  They are loving this quest myth telling the story of Ivan hoping to save his little brother.  On Friday they did some fantastic writing including phrases like:

 

• hoping to find some prey
• in a deep, dark and gloomy wood
• I picked up a scent
• a gigantic bear dropped out of the mist and darkness
• we tried to intimidate him
• still intent on having a meal or snack
