We teach from the revised New National Curriculum 2014.

We have a creative curriculum approach whereby we try to link all the learning to an umbrella topic. 

We currently use the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised Programme to support our teaching of phonics.

In addition to this creative curriculum approach we have daily discrete Phonic lessons.

We deliver guided reading and independent reading activities each day across the school.

We have a strong focus on how to be a successful learner. We teach the children to become more self-aware; thinking about how to succeed, to challenge themselves and improve.

Our values are strong and based on Christian values. All our rewards are linked to how we behave according to our values and how we are developing as learners.

We have a daily Act of Worship either in the school hall, our classroom or in the local church, St Mary's Church, Winterbourne Abbas.
