Wk 11 Splat the number
Splat the number.
This week we have been looking at birthdays. All the children remembered and talked about their past birthdays and what they would like for their next birthday. Introducing the birthday cards with numbers on 1-5 the children were encouraged to splat the card with squatters. Recognising numerals to 5, counting reliably up to 5, and saying and using the number name increases the children’s mathematical development.
Other activities this week included making cakes out of playdough, using candles and confetti to decorate them, claves to tap out simple repeated rhythms and car wash to clean the ride on toys.
