Week 10

In Science, we recapped on our knowledge of materials and looked at the natural materials that some animals use to create their homes. We thought about why certain materials are used by certain animals and the fact that the animal would need to be sage, warm and comfortable and protected from weather. We worked in partners to use natural materials to build an animal home and then tested whether the homes were waterproof or not. In relation to being waterproof some homes were more successful than others.
In Literacy, we are part way through writing a non chronological report about an animal. The children have identified features, created plans, titles, diagrams and introductions so far. This will continue into next week.
We have been working collaboratively this week in maths on some investigation type problems where children have had to use their maths knowledge and logic to complete puzzles.
