Home Learning

Dear Dolphins

It hardly seems real that a whole half term has already passed with you learning at home, and next week is our half term holiday.  I am so proud of all of you for your positive attitude to your home learning and I really do enjoy seeing all your work and photographs of you out and about.  Thank you. I know not every day is easy and on some days you get more done than others but that is fine.

I had an email today about '30 days wild' and thought I would share their website with you as some of you might like to sign up and have a go at at least some of the activities suggested. https://action.wildlifetrusts.org/page/57739/petition/1.

Next week is half term so enjoy your break from formal learning activities and have fun in your gardens or out and about on cycle rides and walks. Keep your eyes open for different birds, animals and plants that you might see.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that some Year 1s will be able to return to school after the half term break and am very much looking forward to seeing you then. If you won't be returning and for Year 2s, online learning will continue as before. As always, if you have any queries, please do drop me an email.

Have a fun and safe half term. Take care of yourselves.

Thursday 2nd April

Below is some information about websites which might be of use to you.

Phonics play has games to play based around phonic activities. Year 1s are working within phase 5, Year 2s in phase 6.

The user name  is march20, password is home.

White Rose maths has online learning videos covering different subjects and activities, (although they are worksheet based) these are free, no login needed. Go to https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/  (or /year-1/)

We are still waiting for free logins to TT Rockstars, but once I have them I will of course let you know.

Don't forget to keep using Reading Eggs ( I am going to look at where you all are today and may be bumping some of you up!) Don't forget to complete the spelling sections as well as the reading one.

I have also set several tasks on Mathletics for you to complete so keep working your way through them. I am checking on line to see how you are getting on. Well done to all of you who are completing them!

Both of these files help to explain to children what is happening in the world at the moment. Please do try and share them.

Dear Dolphins

Welcome to your

new Home Learning Page. Here, I will be posting regular activities for you to be doing whilst you are at home.

You have all taken home a literacy, numeracy and hand writing book to record your work in and your learning pack has lots of useful resources in it including a list of good websites.

Please make sure you read as often as you can and if you finish a book, I would love you to email me and tell me all about it. Why not write a short book review and if you are happy for me to do so, I can share it with the rest of the class. It would also be really good if you wrote a daily diary, in a separate book, to keep a note of all you have been doing. I will be doing this too, during this extraordinary time.

I will miss you all and look forward to hearing about all you've been doing, via email.

Please look after yourselves, stay healthy and well and have fun with your families.

Best wishes

Ms Braidwood
