Week 9
This week we have been looking at non-fiction books about minibeast and how to use these books to find out information about minibeasts. The children have been using a selection of non-fiction books about minibeasts, to find out further information about the minibeasts that they found up in our wildlife garden. We talked about how to use these information books and used the language of – title, author, contents, index, page number, illustrations/illustrator. We then alphabetically ordered the class by first name / surname etc. to demonstrate how an index/contents page is arranged.
In maths we have been revising addition up to 20. This week we have introduced ten frames to help the children calculate number sentences up to 10, then 20 and finally 30. The children coloured the frames using two different colours and this helped them to visualise, then record their addition number sentences.
