Week 4
This week in literacy we read the story If I Built A Car by Chris Van Dusen. The children were then asked to think about if they were to invent their own car, what features would it have & which materials they would use to build each of them. The children used their imaginations really well & came up with some very creative ideas from spikes on the roof & bonnet, silver star patterns on the outside, rainbow colour paint, green square windows to a monster giraffe to scare people away. The children then labelled each of their cars features, recording the words using their phonic knowledge & formation of each grapheme. They also wrote a simple sentence about the design of the car.
