Week 10 - Diwali, UW & PE
This week the children have been learning about the celebration of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. We have looked the different ways that this is celebrated around the World with things such as lights, Diva lamps, Rangoli patterns, Mehndi hands, the story of Rama & Sita, decorations, shopping, fireworks, puja (prayers), gifts, feast, and sweets.
The children have been learning about this festival through stories, non-fiction books, short films & activities using bright colours, patterns & clay work to make their own Mehndi hand Diva lamps.
