Week 4

The children are very proud of their completed aliens that they have been working on over the past few weeks. They independently decided upon the shape, size, colour & different features of their alien, based upon the aliens that they observed in the story 'Aliens Love Underpants'. Some of the children chose to use materials such as pipe cleaners, cotton wool & wool to decorate their aliens.

On Thursday morning we took part in an online Fire Safety Session with a Fire Officer called Rose. They learnt about the dangers of fires & matches, how to exercise like a Firefighter & the role of the Fire Service within the community such as, helping with floods, fire & natural disasters

In Woodland School on Thursday, the children carefully chopped up leeks & potatoes to make some delicious soup, which was warmed up on the fire in the Wildlife Garden. The potatoes were those that were grown by the children at school & then dug up to use in our soup.

There were lots of activities for the children to take part in such as - howler throwing, mud kitchen, digging for worms, marble run, mud & chalk painting.
