Magic Colour Mixing 15.11.16
To explore what happens when they mix colours the children placed skittles around the edge of the plate and watched the sweets melt when hot water was added. The children were fascinated to see the change and described the result as a rainbow. We used colour charts to compare colours and see if we had made any new ones. Other children then went on to make their own colour charts. To extend their learning we used felt tips to make a pattern on kitchen roll and using their fine physical skills, sprayed it with water from a water bottle. The paper absorbed the wet colours and created a tie dye effect.
