Welcome back after the half term week. What a busy return we have had!

The focus of our blog this week is Literacy. In keeping with our Knights and Castles topic, we have been using this as a theme for our writing which involved creating a non-chronological report. We discussed what a non-chronological report is and suggested various headings we might use when writing about castles.

With our headings chosen, we began writing what we learned about parts of a castle and jobs people did in them. We then wrote about Corfe Castle and talked about Henry I and William the Conqueror. The children then added an interesting fact to their writing at the end of the week.

Our blog this week includes some pictures of things children made during their Woodland School session and some pictures of Year 1 children using shapes which they then described by using directional language in their geometry work. 

A few pictures from our art lesson conclude our blog. The art will be discussed in further detail soon, once we have had our Plastic Paradiso session.
