Week 2

Week 2     10.9.21

Welcome to a new week of our new Silver Birch class. The year 3’s have settled in really well even though they were really nervous.  Our topic is Coasts and we will be looking at the Jurassic coast. We have learnt about Durdle Door , Brighton and Lands End in Cornwall. In maths with Miss Darby we have been measuring in cm, m and km.  In reading vipers we are reading Oliver and the Seawigs. It's been really interesting. In SPAG we have learned a new rhyme to remember nouns, verbs and adjectives:

amazing newts vibrating

With Mrs Horne we did music and we learnt two songs, ‘All around the kitchen’ and ‘Hello Everyone’  and we also learnt about the beat/pulse and rhythm.

Hello everyone hello everyone, glad that you are here I - I - I - I’m glad that you are here I - I - I - I’m glad that you are here.

In art we have been drawing designs in our sketchbooks to paint onto rocks.

In P.E on Wednesday we played netball with Mrs Moore, We learned the chest pass and the bounce pass. We started swimming today (Friday) . We had a lot of fun! Next week we will do basketball, we have football club at school on a Wednesday and netball club on a Monday. In our collective worship our new value is Thankfulness.

On Fridays we have Reading Rainbows and we have our first one today! The reading rainbow is where you have to read 5 times to a grown up at home and get your reading record signed to move up the rainbow.

With Mrs Austin we have been doing ICT. We have been learning about the network and how it makes us connect. For example: say that our school is in lockdown and we have to call on zoom all the time and so we were connected as a network through Zoom.

Thank you for reading our first blog.
