We started our science topic on Sound yesterday. The children were able to use their new, homemade percussion instruments to make a variety of sounds. We discussed long and short sounds and had a really interesting discussion about how sound is made and how it travels to our ears. The children should be able to tell you that it is vibrations that create sounds. In our Monthly Writing this week, we wrote the setting for a storm in the children's chosen location. We had great fun creating the noise of a storm in the classroom! We're looking forward to our morning at Thomas Hardye's School on Monday and are even more excited about the evening concert.
