Week 5
Our focus book this week has been Boats Are Busy by Sara Gillingham, learning about all of the different types of boats & what they are used for. The children enjoyed making origami boats, decorating them with patterns & then recording a list of resources that we needed to make the boats in their literacy activity. After this, the children took their boats into the outdoor area to test the buoyancy of their boats & discover whether they would float or sink. The children really enjoyed this experiment, sailing them down the guttering with watering cans to collect in the tuff tray at the bottom & waiting to see how long their boats would float.
