Summer

Welcome back to another week at Winterbourne valley. We hope you had a lovely Easter holiday. This week we started our new topic, the Anglo Saxons. The Anglo Saxons were a tribe like the Romans and ruled England after they left.

In maths this half term with Miss Darby we are learning about time. In Literacy this week  we looked at a Poem called the Jumblies by Edward Lear, we learnt about adverbials and fronted adverbials.

In P.E with Mrs Moore we have started a new sport, badminton. It's basically like tennis but your arms are floppy and we don't use a ball but a shuttlecock.  Today in PE we played cricket.

We have started a new book in guided reading called ‘Beowulf’ by Michael Morpurgo .

We have exciting news, on the last day of term on the 27th of May we are going to Thorncombe woods.

Also to top this week's blog in I.C.T we are doing something called Audacity. It's where you can record and edit sound.

Finally on Tuesday afternoon Carly, Eleanor and Lola went along to Thomas Hardye to the DASP Literacy festival. They were split into groups with sixth formers, middle school children and other first schools and had an opportunity to write a story in their groups. However they had to include a worm and a canoe in their stories. They had a fun afternoon.
