Week 7

We have made it! Half term is here and everyone in Beech Class has worked so hard to do their work and learn as much as they can.

In Writing this week, the children looked at structures for story planning and planned their own stories based on one they heard in class, Mog the Forgetful Cat.

In Maths, both year groups have been working on addition and subtraction using concrete resources.

Our Art lesson was great fun in Beech Class this week. We reviewed drawings by Quentin Blake, the illustrator for the famous Roald Dahl books, and then had a go at adding expression to illustrate character. The children took turns posing to demonstrate different emotions whilst their classmates had one minute to draw the appropriate facial expressions. Then, they used tracing paper to add expression to their characters by exaggerating the features and adding detail.

We have some photos of the children working and two photos which are my favourites from the year so far. One of the class with happy smiling faces, and another of us together pulling funny faces. Both photos from this afternoon demonstrate the children and staff being together and having fun. Thank you Beech Class, and have a wonderful half term!
