Week 3 - Literacy
This week in literacy the children have taken part in lots of mark making activities. The Reception children have been introduced to the phase 2 Letters & Sounds programme in phonics, learning the sounds - s, a & t. They have also practised their letter formation in their focus activity, labelling their facial features on photographs of themselves.
The Preschool children have been encouraged to take part in mark making activities throughout the week using different tools such as pencils, crayons, paint, foam & sand.
We have also introduced our Nursery Narrative intervention which supports early speech and language skills. The children thoroughly enjoyed talking about themselves, looking at themselves in mirrors & responding to questions when asked - who, what, where & when questions.
