Week 9 - Life Education PSHE

On Thursday the Life Education Van with Katie and Harold the Giraffe came to visit to talk to the children about keeping healthy and feelings. The session started by talking about the values of friendship, resilience and caring and about different feelings the children might experience e.g. excitement, happiness, disappointment. The children then did a magic body scan to see what they could find under their skin. They were great at naming their heart, lungs, brains, bones, the skeleton, ribcage etc. and Katie talked to them about what each part did and why they are so important. She also went on to discuss the need for water, foot, exercise and sleep to stay healthy and energised as well as taking time to be mindful, creative and to connect with others.

The children engaged brilliantly with the session and hopefully will remember all the important things they need to do to stay well.

This week in literacy the children have completed an independent write, writing instructions for how to make a hand puppet and in maths we have been doing addition and subtraction.
