Week 10

In our topic work we went to Shire Hall to learn about smugglers. When we were there, we learnt about a smuggler called Charles Northover and his cousin Henry Northover. He lived in Swyre and was a smuggler of Dorset. He was imprisoned at Shire Hall but not for very long, because we think the judge liked the brandy he smuggled!

We were really lucky to be able to act out the trial of Charles Northover in the real court room at Shire Hall. Everyone enjoyed being part of the role play. We also had a tour of the cells (luckily none of us got locked in!)

In maths with Mrs Austin we are learning about addition and subtraction and with Miss Darby we are learning about angles - acute, right and obtuse.

In reading vipers we have been reading One Christmas Wish by Katherine Rundell. We were thinking about how the main character was feeling.

Lots of children brought in presents for the Christmas box appeal and we had Children in Need day on Friday!
