Week 12

Our final week of term has been as busy as always. We have learnt the story of The Bad Tempered ladybird and practised it for our exposure, baked biscuits and cakes, dressed as bugs and made some felt bugs.

On Wednesday parents came in for our final exposure of the year so we could share our learning from our mini beast topic. We shared all our artwork, clay snails, printed butterfly’s and our Andy Warhol self-portraits. Then we showed the class information book we had made and performed the story of The Bad Tempered Ladybird. We also sang the Boa Constrictor song and Teddy bear Rock and Roll before finishing by sharing our learning journeys and photographs from our trip to Lorton Meadows.

On Thursday we had our bug day and buddy picnic to celebrate the end of the academic year. Everyone came in dressed as different mini beasts. We baked cakes and biscuits, made a build the beetle game with our buddies and then went up on the field to share our picnic. It was great fun but very sad to say goodbye to our buddies.

The Seahorse Class has had a fantastic year of learning and fun. Lots of friendships have been made, skills have been practised and hopefully a love of learning instilled that will stay with the children throughout their lives.  It has been an absolute joy to teach the children of Seahorses this year and wonderful to watch them grow in so many ways.

Have a fantastic summer holiday and we will see you all back at school - in Year 1 - in September.
