Week 9

I can't believe we have been back in school for a full four weeks. It has certainly been busy and the Year 1s have been working hard in all subjects across the curriculum.

This week we carried out floating and sinking experiments in science, learnt about compass directions during geography and have started sewing our fish for our DT project. We have also been using deines and practising place value for maths.

For literacy the children have all made lift the flap paintings of a sea creature of their choice with information about it that they have researched. They have had to search on the National Geographic for Kids Website, write their own sentences and then copy these out neatly to be incorporated into their work. They look amazing! Their focus on their artwork was incredible - you could have heard a pin drop as they concentrated so hard on their paintings.
