Wk 2 '5 Little Monkeys'
Encouraging children to join in with repeated refrains and anticipate key events and phrases in rhymes and stories we acted out ‘5 Little Monkeys’. Each time a monkey fell off the bed we counted how many were left. Afterwards the children had the opportunity to play and explore the resources independently and with their friends.
Following on from the children’s interest in roads we decided to make a bus using chairs. Engaging in imaginative role-play based on their own first-hand experiences we packed our bags for a picnic and used the tickets to board the bus to go to the beach. We even sang ‘Wheels on the bus’.
