Week 7
To begin our new topic of Eco, Recycling & the Environment, our literacy focus book has been Mother Earth is Weeping by Claire Donald. The children have been recalling & writing about some of the reasons that she is Weeping, such as climate change, pollution, plastic in the oceans & deforestation. Independent activities based upon the book have been placing glass beads on a picture of the Earth, making the Earth using pipe cleaners & beads, labelling the recycled materials & sticking small coloured squares on to a template of the Earth.
