Halsewell Story 13.11.15
A local historian, Mr. Browne, came in on Wednesday to tell the children the story of Captain Peirce and the Halsewell. The children were enthralled by the story and could remember a lot of the detail. The next day we met Mr. Browne at Worth Matravas and we walked down to the cliffs to see where the ship sank. It was low tide so we could spot the Halsewell Rock which was part of the story. Afterwards we had our lunch at the pub in the village and looked at the artefacts in their small museum.
