Week 4

In Literacy this week, we have continued to explore alternative versions of The Three little pigs. This week our book was 'The Three little wolves and The Big Bad Pig' - the children have worked together this week to sequence the story and compare the story to the traditional version. They have also thought about the character's thoughts and feelings at different points in the story and used the skill of inference to create an opinion (see photographs attached).

In Maths, Year 1 have continued their fraction work and ventured into quarters whilst Year 2 have begun their work on Telling the Time. What wonderful clocks they have made to use in their lessons - well done Year 2!

In History, the children had the challenge of comparing schooling over three periods of time - they used the knowledge of the school trip to help them. They compared schooling in the 1900s, 1960s and today.

In Computing, they have continued to explore typing inclusive of adding capital letters, knowing the function of certain keys on the qwerty keyboard and deleting and adding words to pre-typed sentences.

Great work this week Beech class!
