Week 10

This week we would like to say a big congratulations to Harlan for raising £182 for Children In Need! He raised it by doing a 10 and a half hour PE challenge at the weekend, just like Joe Wicks! Well done Harlan!

Welcome to Bear, you have settled in very well and we have all enjoyed having you in our class.

Literacy with Mrs Austin has been very fun, we have been building up to make newspaper reports about ‘The Iron Man.’ We interviewed Hogarth and asked questions as if he had just trapped The Iron Man.

Miss Darby has worked us hard in Reading Vipers, we have explained the meaning of some words and we read the narrative poem, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.’ We had to find rhyming couplets and highlight them.

Mrs Austin has been working everyone busy in our maths sessions. Year 3s have taken away in column method with one exchange. Year 4s have been adding 4 digit numbers in column addition with no exchange.

Miss Darby has been teaching the year 3’s how to tell the time, some have even gone on to telling the time to 5 minutes.

Year 4s have been telling the time to the nearest minute and looking at digital time.

Our new topic ‘The Rise Of The Robots.’ we are going to watch a film that Archie very kindly brought called ‘The Iron Giant.’ Which is based on our literacy book called ‘The Iron Man.’ by Ted Hughes.

Today PE kits are being sent home for a well earnt wash and dry! If possible a spare pair of socks or tights would be a good idea, especially in this very wet weather!

That’s it for this week bye
