Wk 6 Eco Day May 2018
Eco Day May 2018
We’ve had another successful Eco Day with perfect weather. All the children took part in three workshops throughout the day. Mrs Kirlew led the snake making using recycled ties and shredded paper.Minibeast hunts were led by Mrs Hallett and the children made some small bamboo bug houses. Ms Braidwood led shelter building and clay pot making. The children had a good time learning new skills and working confidently and cooperatively alongside others of all ages.
In the front playground the children have also been practising their skills on the climbing frame, using the fireman’s pole, monkey bars, scramble net and climbing wall with rope. Some children decided to ‘climb up the ladder’ on the snakes and ladders game on the ground.
Learning the alphabet, numbers, shapes and sounds the children showed skill in making toys work by pressing parts or lifting flaps to achieve effects such as sound, movements or new images.
