Week 1

Welcome back Sharks to another school term here at Winterbourne valley. We have a lot to catch up on! At the beginning of the week, Molly Vintiner kindly brought some butterflies into school that she has had from caterpillars. We were lucky enough to release these at the top of the wildlife garden. The video of this will be posted in the video resources soon...

This week the year 4 children are back swimming at 1610 again. They had a great time!

During the past week in maths we began to learn about decimals up to 1 for example 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 etc. On Thursday and Friday, Miss Darby has been teaching us fraction. We have been learning about equivalent fractions and the essential fractions like ½ and ¼.

In Reading Vipers we have read a book called ‘Clean Up’ about a girl that goes to his Grandpa and Grandmas in Jamaica and she finds that there is a lot of litter by the beach, she gets everybody together and they all clean up the beach. With Mrs Austin in SPAG we have been looking at possessive apostrophes.

Check out the sneaky peak of the beautiful painted tiles that we have made for our school mural based on "togetherness". Photos posted below!

That leaves us just enough time to talk to you about our new topic Plastic Pollution. During the holidays our homework was to look out for plastic pollution, at the beach, the park or even our gardens. These pictures have been made into a fantastic display!

That's it for this week bye!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
