Welcome to the end of another week. It has been a special one because we have all been celebrating World Book Day. 

On Thursday, we spent the afternoon doing some book related activities. Children were able to decorate a bookmark to take home, and write reviews of their favourite book. Some children brought books into school and we had a lovely group discussion, with pupils bravely volunteering to come forwards and talk about their books to the class. It was brilliant to see the children wearing their book character costumes, and everyone was given the chance to explain why their character was their favourite.  

Books are a wonderful way to share time with others and the children spent some time reading freely with their friends and talking about their books. 

In the evening, a great many of you attended our book day event. It was a lovely time to share stories and conversation with others and a good chance for children to mix with those from other year groups. We are very grateful to all the children, parents, and carers who have helped participate with World Book Day.
