Week 14

The children have had a busy final week but we have managed to take some time to watch and enjoy both Sharks carol singing and Seahorses Nativity. They are both available on the resource centre of this website so do take some time to watch them. We also had a treat on Wednesday when we had a zoom call from some of the cast of Rapunzel from the pantomime being performed at Weymouth Pavilion. They performed part of the script for us and the children were able to ask them questions.

In literacy the children have been learning the story of The Elves and the Shoemaker and retold the story as an independent write on Wednesday.  It is lovely to see the progress they have made in their independent writing books and all of the children were able to retell the story.

In maths year 1 have been using number lines to solve missing number problems and have been learning their number bonds to 20, while year 2 have continued to learn about multiplication.

Mrs Thompson was in on Thursday for forest school and the children had a great time making Santa sticks and leaf printing. Forest school will continue next term on Thursdays, so please make sure outdoor learning gear including wellies is in school.

We do hope you have had time to enjoy The Little Red Robin.  We are really proud of all the children for their hard work learning the songs, dances and their words. They are amazing!

We finished our afternoon with a special visit from Santa via Zoom - it was fabulous that he was able to take some time out from his busy schedule to have a chat with the children.  Hopefully they will all be good at least until Christmas!

Have a lovely, relaxing and safe Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
