Week 7 - Expressive Art & Design
In outdoor learning this week the children have been very creative & took part in natural weaving. As part of our termly topic of Eco, Recycling & the Environment, we used recycled cardboard to make the weaving frames & collected natural materials (grass, weeds, flowers & small twigs) from the Wildlife Garden to weave through the strings. This was a great activity to support the development of - Hand/eye coordination, fine motor skills, aids visual tracking, strengthening of the muscles used in pincer grip & spatial concepts by weaving over and under & creativity.
