Week 10 - Science
This half of term in science we are learning about materials, naming them, distinguishing between an object and the material from which it's made and talking about the properties of everyday materials.
Today the children's challenge was to use a piece of A4 paper to make a board stand at least 10cm above their table. They worked in small groups and after lots of discussion, trial and error, they were able to help each other to work out a way of doing this. Some groups also managed to balance their pencil pots on top of that!
We have continued to learn about the Great Fire of London and have been reading a story about a boy called Toby and how he was involved.
The children have also started learning the songs and their words for the nativity. If your child has bought some words home to learn, please do read these through with them and practice. Thank you.
