WB 13.07.2020.
Welcome to week 12, our final week of the school year!
The year has flown past and has also been somewhat unusual for us all. It was lovely to be able to welcome the Seahorses back to school for their final half term in Reception. Thank you very much for all of the lovely observations of learning that you have been posting on Tapestry for us, we really appreciate these insights into the activities that the children have been completing over the summer term. Please find our last learning grid above and on Tapestry, where you will find a combination of both maths and literacy on the one grid for the final week of the year. The children have really enjoyed our 'Dangerous Dinosaur' topic and I too have learnt some interesting facts from the children!
What fantastic weather we had for our Seahorse class Sports Day, during our PE session with Mrs Moore last Friday. They have all worked so hard during their PE lessons with Ms Moore practising their running, throwing and hurdling skills. They all thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially eating their ice-lollies at the end of the day!!
In literacy we have been looking at story writing and how to use story openers, connectives, adjectives, capital letters and punctuation. The children have produced some very imaginative stories about dinosaurs, please see Tapestry for individual photos of their work.
In maths, we have continued to build upon the children's knowledge and understanding of addition and subtraction, introducing the part part whole method. They enjoyed this so much, some of them asked for additional worksheets!
We have have thoroughly enjoyed working with the children this year and watching the progress they have made towards the end of the EYFS. We wish them all the very best for their transition into the Dolphin class and hope that you all have a very, happy, safe and restful summer holiday.
