Welcome back after the sunny Easter break. I hope you all had a restful time and didn't overindulge in chocolate!

This week the children have been introduced to their new topic of Knights and Castles, shared what they already know and written lots of good questions about what they would like to find out. Including  - Why can't girls be knights?

We have set up a science experiment to find out what conditions are needed for seeds to grow and we will be monitoring all our seeds over the next few weeks to find out which ones will germinate and grow.

The children have also designed their own shield after we talked about some of the animals used in heraldry. They are bringing their designs home today so they can have a go at making them into shields. This can be done by simply cutting out the design and sticking it onto some card or you could be ambitious and enlarge the design onto a bigger piece of card. Once the shields are made the children can either bring them into school, or, you can take a photograph and email it in. Have fun making!
