Welcome (or welcome back!)  to Dolphin Class! 

 

The children have arrived after the summer break, well rested and keen to learn. We have introduced this half terms topic of Ship Ahoy! which the children have embraced and already have lots of questions about ships that they want to research. Our table groups are four famous ships, HMS Victory, The Golden Hinde, HMS Beagle and HMS Endeavour so do find out which table your child is on and see what you can find out about their ship and who sailed on her. 

 

Our year 2s have been brilliant at showing us the way, where things are and carrying out jobs around the classroom. Thank you!

 

We have already started with phonics and handwriting, literacy and maths and all the children should have bought home their reading books and spellings to learn. Spelling tests will be on a Thursday and new ones sent home that day. Reading books will be changed at least twice a week. 

 

You should have received your class newsletter yesterday, but if you have any questions, please do come and see me. There will be a parent teacher consultation the week before half term. 

 

On a Monday afternoon we will be doing art and it would be great if there was a parent who was able to help out on that afternoon. If you would like to do this on a regular basis, let me know.  It would also be good to have someone to listen to readers each week, a Wednesday afternoon would be ideal. Again if you would like to do this get in touch.
