For children to understand the importance of Remembrance Day we joined the Reception children at 11 o'clock to observe the two minute silence. The children responded appropriately, sitting quietly, despite one child having hiccups all the way through it. We also looked in the hall at the poppy wreaths and candles lit for the Taize Service. Playing with poppies in the playdough we talked about why poppies are worn. Using their fingers the children also made poppy pictures using paint. On Friday the children dressed up as Heroes for Children in Need.
