Week 11

This week in Maths, we have collaboratively been revisiting the concept of money. Beech class are generally very good at identifying coins and understanding their values. We practiced making different amounts with different coins. Some of us made values like £3.81 whilst others made amounts up to 50p.

In Science, we have been learning about herbivores, omnivores and carnivores - we learned that different types of birds are different eaters. Some birds are carnivores, other are herbivores and some are omnivores. We then made bird cone feeders using dried fruits, seeds, oats and mashed bananas and hung them on the trees.

On Thursday, we had a very exciting time where we moved up to our new classes. Year 2 went up to Silver Birch class and the Year 1 children were joined by the new children from Cherry Class. We had a blast and had lots of fun - the children are very much looking forward to September!

In Computing, we have been designing a program based around a 'Space Race' using Scratch and have changed and designed our sprites.
