Week 8
This week Beech class have been continuing their learning about seasons and we went on a walk around the school field looking for clues that it was summer. We couldn't believe it was summer as it was freezing cold and not very summery at all. Nevertheless, we managed to find some objects indicative of summer and we tied them to our learning journey sticks (see photos).
In Literacy, we have continued our poetry lessons and even learned two poems off by heart which we performed as a class. Mrs Beale has been mega impressed with all the children who have performed a poem off by heart and is now running low on raffle tickets as there are so many superstars in Beech Class.
In Maths, Year 1 are working on place value and numbers within 100 whilst Year 2 have been working on positional language. There is still lots of confusion of right and left but we continue to practice.
In RE we talked about special journeys and unpacked the class teddy bear's suitcase to look for clues as to which journey he was going on - we discovered he was off to a 4 year olds birthday party (see photo).
Beech class are super excited to be partaking in Sports Day next Wednesday and have been working hard on a dance in PE to perform at the event.
