Just a quick update this week. The year 4 children are responsible for writing the blog in Silver Birch Class and this will get underway next week.
Welcome to the new academic year at Winterbourne Valley First School. We have had a positive first week back as the children settle into Silver Birch Class. For all, this is a brand new start, with a different set of classmates to work with. Some have never been part of Silver Birch Class before and are getting used to less familiar staff members, a new classroom and new classmates. It's been a long week and many of the children are tired, but it has been a real success and we are all getting to know each other much better and bonding as a class. We want to offer a special welcome to Riley and Scarlett in year 4. They have just joined our school and are doing a great job of settling in.
It has been a solemn week for the country with Queen Elizabeth's passing. We have spoken about this both in class and in collective worship. We know that many families had already discussed this with their own children and felt it was important to mark the event in school, particularly as the children were so invested in the Jubilee celebrations earlier in the year.
We hope you have a relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing all of the children again next week.
