Week 7
Beech Class has been a busy place this week. I would like to start by thanking the many people who attended our parents evenings.
This week, the children have had a brief introduction to our new topic, Rainforests. We will work on this further over the coming weeks. The children have been writing about their half term holidays. It sounds like they were having lots of fun!
In Maths, Year 1 have been working on place value within 50. This will continue next week. Year 2 have been working on multiplication and division, and we will work on this for another week too.
Our blog photos for week 7 of the Spring Term are from our Science, RE and Computing lessons. In computing, the children were planning routes around a map and writing programs for these which they tested with Bee Bots.
Our Science has been about categorising animals. An example of a child's worksheet is included here.
In RE, we decided to make use of the dry weather to go on a class walk. Our photos show some of the children as they observed seasonal changes in the school grounds. We were looking for signs of Spring and related our observations to the importance of Spring in the Christian calendar. There are some lovely daffodils growing in school!
This closes our blog for this week. I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
