WEEK 15
Our last week before the Christmas holiday days has been busy and filled with lots of fun Christmas themed activities and of course, we all thoroughly enjoyed our school Christmas lunch. Thank you to all of the ladies that volunteered to help with this, we loved seeing you all in your festive jumpers and really enjoyed our delicious food! The children made their own Rudolph the red nose reindeer party hats, sprinkling lots of glitter on the noses to make sure they sparkled and shined.
In both maths and literacy the children have been competing Christmas themed activities such as matching the 2D shapes to the correct shaped Christmas presents; following the key to colour the 2D shapes in the pictures; reading the story of The Gingerbread Man and then writing shopping lists of the ingredients that we would need to buy to make gingerbread; tracing Christmas pictures and completing a Nativity scene and labeling the characters.
In outdoor learning (which due to extremely heavy rainfall, took place inside this week) Mrs Hallett showed the children a fantastic Hedgehog House that her Husband made for our Wildlife Garden. She explained to the children why it had been made and that we hope to offer some local hedgehogs a warm and cosy home for the winter. The children then made clay and wood hedgehogs which will be displayed next to the Hedgehog House when they have dried and varnished.
We wish you all a restful and very "Happy Christmas" and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
