Week 12

On Tuesday this week Meghan from Wessex Water came in to talk to all the children about where our clean water comes from and what happens to our sewage. More information about this is on the Eco page of this website.

In Literacy we have been listening and learning about the stories of Old Bear by Jane Hissey. Today we started writing our own story about a bear who has got lost. The children have been given a story starter and are having to write about what happens next, sequencing their narrative so it makes sense.

In maths we are continuing to work on addition and subtraction in year 1 and on multiplication in year 2. The children have had a go at problem solving as well.

Today Rev Jean came in to help all of the children make Christingles which will be used tomorrow during our Advent Service which will be held at St Marys Church in Winterbourne Abbas at 8:45. All are welcome.

Nativity rehearsals are in full swing. If your child has words to learn, please could you help them to do this at home as they need to know them off by heart by the end of next week. A letter will also be coming home in the next couple of days if we need you to provide your child with a costume. If you don't get a letter, it means we have everything we need for them in school.

Don't forget on Tuesday 4th December 6-7pm we have our phonics evening when we will be explaining how phonics is taught across the school and how you can help your child. I do hope you can come.
