Week 13
What a fun filled last week of term we have had! We started the week with a virtual visit from The Charmouth Heritage Centre where we learnt about how fossils are formed at the bottom of the sea such as the Ichthyosaurs. The children moved like an Ichthyosaurs, swimming through the water and falling down to the sea bed & becoming a fossil. We learnt that they ate meat, so they were carnivores. We also saw a fossil that was bone from the spine of an Ichthyosaurs. Anna told us that the dinosaur would have been as big as our classroom!
We saw some ammonites and learnt about what they would have looked like before they became fossils & that they were very similar to a squid.
Throughout the week we have been busy enjoying lots of activities including a dinosaur swap tuff tray, building vehicles with Mobilo, playdough, pencil control sheets, painting, colouring and lots of funky finger activities in preparation for Reception!
We hope you have a fantastic and well deserved summer holidays and we can’t wait to see you all in September!
