Week 1
Welcome to the first Silver Birch blog ever! We have only been back for two days, but have squeezed so much in! Silver Birch class have been a complete delight to teach and the staff are very much enjoying getting to know our new year 3 children. They have all been super grown up and risen to the new challenges already. We have been working on Roman Numerals in maths for the first few days this term. Your child will have work in their homework book this week which will help them to consolidate this new knowledge. Please remember that homework books are due in on a Wednesday morning. We have also begun our new book, "Oliver and the Seawigs" in our weekly Reading Vipers session. We have started this term's science topic on Rocks and Soil, and your child has been observing different types of rocks using a magnifying glass and sorting them into different groups. Your child should be able to tell you, in basic terms, how igneous rocks are formed. We look forward to a spending a whole week with Silver Birch class next week and hope that all the children have a fun and relaxing weekend. Back to school can be quite tiring after the long Summer holidays, (for children and staff!)
Here is a picture of our fantastic new classroom display, with photos of all of our lovely little people!
