In Maths this week  Year 2 have started to complete addition and subtraction calculations using 2 digit and 1 digit numbers. They have also begun to add together 3 1 digit numbers always checking to see if there is a number bond for 10 amongst the 3 numbers.

Year 1 have begun completing addition calculations and learning to write an addition number sentence using + and = signs. Today they were starting with a total e.g. 6 and seeing how many different ways they could split this into 2 and use these to make their number sentences. e.g. 4 + 2 = 6.

There is always concrete equipment available for the children to use to help them with their maths work. Today the year 1s were using multi link while the year 2s used deines.
