Week 2 - Science
This week in literacy we have been looking at the book 'The Pirates Next Door'. On Monday we began reading the first few pages and the children had a go at predicting what would happen next before we completed the story. Today the children have had a go at writing a diary entry about the story as their first independent write of the year. They all had a really good go and remembered lots of details about the story.
In science this half term we are learning about materials and on Tuesday we began learning lots of topic words such as rigid, flexible, soft, hard, solid. When we went outside the children had to find objects to sort into the categories as we classified different objects, some of which could go into more than one group.
