Welcome to our school

I would like to warmly welcome you to Winterbourne Valley CE VA First School, where all children are nurtured in their learning and personal development according to the beliefs of the Christian faith. 

Staff work tirelessly to support, inspire and challenge all children, so that they are able to achieve their very best. Our learners develop into kind, confident and successful children, who are ready to take on future challenges. We all work together to support each other and believe strongly in making sure that learning is exciting, as well as personally challenging. We want our parents and carers to feel fully involved in their child’s education and will provide lots of opportunities to support you in that journey.

We encourage children to take on different responsibilities and leadership opportunities within school, so that they develop those vital listening, communication and collaboration skills.

We have four classes within the school, a foundation base, including a Pre-School (Blossom Class) and Reception class (Cherry Class), a Year 1 and 2 class (Beech Class) and a Year 3 and 4 class (Silver Birch Class) We also have a very popular Breakfast Club and After School Club, that lots of the children attend. 

We understand the importance of learning outside of the classroom and aim to offer a wide variety of clubs and trips that children can benefit from.
