Week 11
On Wednesday afternoon we had our annual sports day. All the children participated in four different sports and it was super to see them supporting each other and cheering each other on. Great sportsmanship from all the children. The ice lollies were most welcome at the end. Well done everyone.
Thursday was our Knights and Castles dress up day. The children looked amazing in their outfits and we had several female knights. During the morning the children worked at six different stations to create dishes for our medieval feast. They made pottage, carefully cutting carrots, parsnips, swede, onions and leeks. Bread dough was mixed and left to prove before baking and the children made butter carefully mixing the double cream until it turned. They also made a salad created entirely from things grown in their vegetable garden (except the exocitc oranges), which was a real achievement. Jellies and marchpaine were also made to add sweetness. The children were brilliant working together in groups and learning lots about how much hard work goes in to creating dishes!. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who joined us in the afternoon to devour the feast, join in the dancing and listen to the childrens songs. It was great to have your support and the children really enjoyed sharing their learning with you.
